I don't get to many gigs these days but I made the 80 mile trip to see Chick Corea Elektric Band at the Barbican in London last night and I am glad I did. Those guys can really play!
Two hours of great music and I urge anyone who can to go see them. Setlist: Charged Particles, Trance Dance, CTA, Alan Corday, Beneath The Mask, Silver Temple, Got A Match?
And thanks to George for the headsup about the tour.

Envious you got to see them. They are skipping here again, like they did on To the Stars tour. I guess a city of 7 million people isn't worth their time.

I'll be seeing them with Cone and Sven in August. They skipped the Bay Area first go around. Bela Fleck opens. Love Victor. Can't wrap my head around fusion banjo.

The closest they play this time is in Norway, so no CCEB for me. Luckily I've seen them twice before. The second time they already had Jimmy Earl on bass.

Thanks to whoever posted the review of the Barbican gig in the News section. It is spot on.

On a slightly separate point. What are the bands you wish you had had a chance to see play live? For me it is Tribal Tech. The other two I am sorry I never had a chance to see are not fusion but are still favourotes of mine: the original Love and Buffalo Springfield.

Colosseum II - They played two gigs in Finland in 1975, but I didn't know them (or the music they played) back then. Brand X - The original line-up would have been nice to see.
Genesis - After PG departed, one of those gigs with Bill Bruford on drums. U.K. - The original quartet

We saw CCEB & Bela Fleck and the Flecktones last night. What an excellent show. Someone has already posted it on Dime and samples sound good.

Just picked up a Brand X ticket at Yoshi's Oakland for November 13!!!!!

Just back from seeing the Meier Budjana Band in Guildford. Brilliant! Also had a chance to chat to Dewa Budjana and Leonardo Pavkovic (one of the few people doing much to support our kind of music these days). Apparently they are not recording the gigs but intend to record some material after the tour. They are touring Europe at the moment but I don't think they are going to Finland JaySee
