Scott Henderson wrote (on his forum): "Looks like the gig in Sellosali (Finland) was cancelled - sorry. I don't know the reason, but it's usually about the budget". So, hell doesn't freeze over after all.

I saw the Dixie Dregs last night. My 5th time overall, but first since 2001. Two, 1 hour sets, split by a 10 minute intermission, no opener. Perfect. I was up close on the floor, just right of center. This tour seems to be very much Andy Wests thing, with him doing almost all the little stage announcement/song intros. As some of you may know, Morse is battling tendonitis. He has some kind of harness on his wrist, and has adjusted his picking on all the blazing runs. It looks slipshod, but his playing doesn't suffer. So he wasn't as ebullient as I'm used to seeing him. Allen Sloan was having the most fun, by far. Possibly the skinniest guy I've ever seen these days. Keyboardist Steve Davidowski is no T Lavitz. Certainly not in technique, and his patches were a bit lacking too. But to return after 41 years away and learn all this material, is nothing to sneeze at. He was solid. Morgenstein is the same as ever, giving nothing to the ravages of time that seem to slow drummers down first. Most everyone there was old though, and I felt it in the pain in the small of my back, from standing for for over 2 hours. Set list was great, a mix of obvious tunes and some stuff I'd not seen them play before. It was the same as I've seen on other dates, if you've seen any lists. Did not get lucky and run into out very own jacofan, who was supposed to go as well.

Hi Gents - I'm alive but work has been killing me so I've not had much time for fun like posting here.
Anyway, I too was at the Dixie Dregs show and it was a killer (sorry I missed George). I've been a long time fan but never been able to make it. Got there early and thus, near the front of the line. Basically lined up exactly with Rod on the first tier, about 30 feet away, which is where I wanted to be (I've been to this venue 100s of times). It was pretty thrilling. Though I am sure that George's account is pretty spot on in terms of comparing various shows from the past, it still was immensely entertaining. The best part for me is that the musicians appears to be enjoying themselves immensely, which also makes everything that much more fun. For sure, Sloan needs a few slices of Chicago Deep Dish Pizza!

There may have been more because I do remember Wolfgang Haffner playing drums.

Saw The Dixie Dregs as well Wednesday night in Sacramento, as there were no Bay Area dates (Santa Cruz as well). Great concert! Andy did the announcing back in the days he was in the band, so was back at it. Probably good, as Steve has a tendency to ramble on when he talks. I thought everyone was terrific. Steve D. played some really interesting solos. Allan’s song for his daughter was lovely, as was Northern Lights and Go For Baroque. Steve should do an acoustic tour. Easier on his wrist, too. Andy played his old, beautiful Alembic on one tune, loaned to him by the owner. Jeff Watson played in Crossroads for one of the encores. He kept complaining about something sound wise, instead of just playing. He was playing through one of Steve’s Engl amps. My drummer friend Clayton says he’s a jerk. The Crest Theater is an old, lovely theater. We had 10th row seats. Life was great that night! Hoping for future album/DVD releases.
