On the subject of drummers has anyone else seen the film Whiplash? I haven't seen it yet, but it is on my To-Watch list. Hopefully it will be on tv soon.

On the subject of drummers has anyone else seen the film Whiplash? No, by design. Non-musos love it and think it very realistic, but all the other drummers I know that have seen it, regard it with a mix of derision and laughs for it's overblown/inaccurate portrayal. Even Erskine, who consulted on it, had his problems with much of the film.

However it is an entertaining piece of fiction - just don't expect it to be a documentary.

Whoops I forgot Bruford and Chad Wackerman. Bill Bruford - Feels Good To Me Chad Wackerman - The View Another good one is Jeroen Vrolijk - New Morning I just listened to the Vrolijk album again and was somewhat underwhelmed. Much better are any of these five: Jack De Johnette's Special Edition - Irresistible Forces Kenwood Dennard - Just Advance Rene Engel - Slow Life Carola Grey - The Age of Illusions Hilary Jones - Soaring

On the subject of drummers has anyone else seen the film Whiplash? I was really disappointed in it. I found it pointless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
