Bruford One of a Kind is just the pinnacle for me in so many ways. I have a hard time picking something that comes close. Technically, Michael Shrieve's Two Doors qualifies but I consider that to be more of a Lane / Hellborg album. Still a fave so... Trilok Gurtu's Crazy Saints "Believe" is pretty awesome. Antonio Sanchez's Meridian Suite I think Dan Weiss' Starebaby may not be up there listening wise with some of these others but it is surely one of the most conceptually forward-thinking albums I've ever heard a drummer put forth.
