Allan Holdsworth was the king of the decade. What about Tribal Tech? Not as prolific as Holdsworth, but they had two albums in the 80's that I think sort of define the post 70s fusion genre, and still stand up very well today as being almost perfect fusion in terms of the elements I associate with the genre. My list looks a lot like Georges but with a healthy dose of Holdsworth
