Hi, If you do a search for 'Jazz' on Proboards then only six forums come up. www.proboards.com/forum-directoryOnly 2 of these forums appear to be active yours and mine. Mine is as follows. medway-u3a-jazz.freeforums.net/I have linked to you here. medway-u3a-jazz.freeforums.net/thread/206/jazz-forums-on-platformFor your information my forum is as follows. The principal purpose of setting up the forum was to record the monthly playlist of the Jazz Interest Group of the Medway University of the Third Age. You can view these playlists and even listen to the music by clicking on the hyperlinks provided. Over and above this there is a guide to Jazz performances in the Medway area of the UK. There is also a guide to other music in the area that might be of interest to Jazz enthusiasts The website also contains other items of potential interest to Jazz fans wherever they might live. There is a guide to historic Jazz archives where free downloads are available, links to Jazz performances on YouTube, a brief guide to ‘modern vintage’ and much more.

Hi and welcome
Can you tell us more about how the playlists are created?

Hi, So if you look at typical example medway-u3a-jazz.freeforums.net/thread/185/playlist-19-february-2018, then you will see that 'playlist' refers to something a little more literal than you might have imagined. It is a list of things played. These are arranged in a table and, where available, hyperlinks have been added (manually) to a YouTube performance for the track and/or the Amazon page for the album.

What I meant was, is there like a theme or something, or are they just any tracks chosen by your group members? Do you listen to them together and then have a discussion?

Sorry I misunderstood the question. So we meet up once a month, people bring along music and we play it in turn. There is some discussion but less as we get to understand each others views and preferences on Jazz. I got to find that there was an interesting mix of music which is why I volunteered to record it online. Before then, I might have heard an interesting track in the first half before the coffee break but have forgotten what it was by the time I had got home.
