10. Thick - Sadly, I only like three tunes on this; Sheik of Encino, Jalapeno, and Slick 9. Rocket Science - A little better, but I felt like they were running on fumes at the end here. 8. Illicit - Many love this one, I know. But this is where I think they start to slide, with all the improvs. Only The Big Wave is top notch TT material, although I do like Stoopid, Root Food and Torque as well. 7. Face First - Same thing here, but the songs I like the most, (Salt Lick, Canine, and the title track)I like more than the Illicit stuff, overall. 6. Nomad - Polarizing record, for me. Half of it, I love. The other half puts me to sleep, especially Elegy for Shoe. 5. X - Surprisingly good comeback. I wish they would have done a follow-up. Maybe someday, but I doubt it. 4. Reality Check - A return to more songwriting, from their two previous records. Which I appreciate. 3. Dr. Hee - Minority position, but I like the old, sax and percussion, days a lot. And Henderson never sounded better, to me. 2. Spears - This one sorely needs a remaster, but the writing is superb. There's a reason they were still doing three of these songs live, all the way til the end. 1. Tribal Tech - Best batch of songwriting, cleanest production, and my favorite of their keyboardists. The two longest tracks are a bit ponderous, but it's no biggie.

This is so much more difficult than rating Brand X albums. All TT's are great. I must give some thought to this one.

I love Tribal Tech and also find it very difficult to rank them in order. If forced to chose just one I would probably pick Tribal Tech.

Illicit / Face First / Reality Check / XThese four albums are the ones I listen to the most, so I guess I do prefer Kinsey/Covington era. Tribal TechGreat tunes and playing, but for some reason it doesn't visit my cd player as often as the top four. Spears / Dr. Hee / NomadTo my ears these three sound equally good. Many great tunes. Thick / Rocket ScienceI even enjoy listening to these two, although I do understand why some people might not. I visited drummer Steve Houghton's website to see, what has he been up to after playing on those early Tribal Tech albums. I noticed that the site doesn't mention Tribal Tech or Scott Henderson at all. I wonder if there's another drummer by the same name?

As I said it is very difficult to rank them.
