Return To Forever and the Elektric Band are two of the most well known Chick Corea led ensembles who have both made huge impacts in their respective eras but which band in your honest opinion was the better one?
I'm a huge fan of both and while i am a big fan of the Elektric Band which was the one i grew up with, i have to go with RTF as the better band because they helped bring a rock edge to jazz plus their music was a huge part of the fusion genre during the 1970s. The RTF lineup of Corea, Di Meola, Clarke and White is legendary

Arrggh. Two of my all time favorites. I collect shows of both, and have at least 40 of each band. I have to go RTF as well though. I have more history with them, and my 2 favorite albums of all time bear their name

Yes I have to agree it has to be RTF. The Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy is like the first Mahavishnu Orchestra and Bitches Brew one of the definitive fusion albums for me.

Romantic Warrior, Where Have I Known You Before & No Mystery is one of the greatest trilogy of albums of all time

Bitches Brew helped set the stage, Mahavishnu Orchestra got the ball rolling but for me, RTF took things to the next level and completely decimated the entire landscape.
