Which Elektric Band member do you think had the best solo debut album?
Frank Gambale: Brave New Guitar?
John Patitucci self titled
Eric Marienthal: Voices Of The Heart?
Dave Weckl: Master Plan?

Weckl. That's a real good album. Patitucci is good too, but probably a smidge less so. The Gambale is decent. I like about half of it. Never heard the Marienthal, but Crossroads is the only one I've ever been able to stomach from him.

They're all pretty good in their own right and very different from one another, as a fan of all of the guys and enjoy their debut albums, Master Plan by Dave Weckl is brilliant. The title track with him, Steve Gadd, Chick Corea, Anthony Jackson and Jay Oliver is unbeatable especially the duel drum solo. Crossroads is my all time favourite album from Marienthal.

Scott Henderson! (Oh, I guess his debut came kind of late in his career. And was a blues album). Of the others, aside from Marienthal who I don't care for, it's a tough call. All good. It's been a while. I'll give them a listen.

The Marienthal is by far the weakest. I like the other three and would find it hard to choose between them. Of course the Gambale one was made before he joined the Elektric Band and the others all seem to have that GRP sound.

I RE listened to the ones mentioned in the op. All ok, but nothing stands out other than Gambale. But Franks live stuff is much more visceral.
I just remembered Mike Miller was in the band. He’d get my vote.
