Can someone explain to me why Chad Wackerman’s cds are so exspensive on Discogs? As of 1-2-22 The View is actually reasonably priced but usually all his are crazy expensive

Well, I assume they're out of print. Beyond that though, who knows? Some of the prices those guys set, I wonder where they came up with it. Our very own SourceCodeX is asking for 150$ for Marc Guillermont - Space Animals. Based on what, besides being out of print? I dunno. It's a good album, but no cd is worth 3 figures in my book. In todays world, the music itself is always out there either as files or as a stream, so the music has no extra worth. It's got to be for a cd collector, which to me, is a weird thing to collect, taking music out of the equation. Different strokes, I guess.

They'd probably be of better use (and safer) than in my storage space in the dodgy part of Oakland. I'm in the process of clearing the space out. I'll take a photo inventory. You're going to get a kick out of this: I just set up a turntable system in our vacation home. It's all tube, and my old speakers I bought in '84

Seriously, a guy who eschewed cds because they were too unwieldy, then digging the turntable back out, is funny. Where are my cd pics.?

Where are my cd pics.? Pretty good. I still mostly stream with that system, but I'm accumulating some records, mostly jazz, including a lot of 60s stuff from my parents. The appeal of vinyl is tactile to a large extent. It is the process of handling the materials, touch, sight and smells. And the knowledge that you are entirely out of the digital realm. You still handle Cds, but the tactility is worse IMO - fiddly plastic cases, tiny hard to read liners that bare hard to get back under the tabs. And vinyl does sound different - not necessarily better, but just a sometimes welcome change. With Cds there is no sonic advantage. So the record use is like an occasional nostalgic thing just to change things up. I do need to clear out that storage space. I'll send photos of what I've got.

I recently contacted Chad via his drummer website and asked if he had many of these "rare" and overpriced CDs for sale. He did, in still in shrink-wrap.
He sold them to me via PayPal for $20 each including shipping!
Here's how to find rare music, a booklet I just wrote:

SourceCodeX has deeply discounted the Marc Guillermont - Space Animals CD. $150 was indeed nuts. It’s only $12.90 now: Space AnimalsI have sold a CD on Amazon for $250. (Tonto Rides Again by Tonto’s Expanding Head Band). Awhile back I sold Personnae and Time is the Enemy, both signed by Lane and Hellborg for $900. I typically sell my signed CDs for around $100 to $150. It’s all about rarity and demand. Marc Guillermont - Space Animals just SOLD to a Fuze-Zone member.😎👍🎼🎸

I have all Wackerman cd's. Indeed pricy, but I do not part with them. 40 Reason sells for 270 euros on amazon.nl...
Remember SourceCodeX, aka John P. , who was on fusenet also. Is Richard Heath still here?
