So, I just posted under ‘Non-fusion faves’ and instantly I see ‘17 viewing’.
They are viewing too quickly, actually. They are viewing before I have had a chance to correct a wrong link that I posted. Under ‘Users Online’, I see that the viewers are ‘guests’ rather than ‘members’.
My son suggests that these guests are search engine trawlers rather than people. Does anyone know for sure? It could be that the actual number of people on discussion boards is less than the stats suggest.
FURTHER COMMENT:
So 15 viewers for 'Forum Discussion' within 10 seconds of posting this. It has to be some sort of automated effect.
... We are now up to '22 viewing' for 'Forum Discussion' but this post has had only 10 recorded views at this time!
!!! So I have now clicked a number of different topics and I have managed to get 'Most Users Online: 75 (a few seconds ago)'.
Sorry, Administrator! For the record, the previous number was 34, but that was probably artificial also.
I have just realised that there is a sting in the tail for me in this. I once looked at the message board that I run and saw that there had been a huge number of hits within the last 24 hours. I imagined that some blogger had referenced my site and all his readers had followed his link. In retrospect, I think it was probably just one guy who had clicked lots of links within the message board.

I have noticed that stuff too, and I don't get it. I'm not well versed in anything like it to get worked up about it, but it is odd.
