In an episode of GuitarWank, Scott was talking with Oz Noy about the idiosyncrasies of booking concerts, and mentioned that many venues will not book him with his (relatively unknown) band members. Sometimes they will insist on star status supporting members, particularly the drummer. For instance, to play AU gigs, he had to book with Donanti rather than his usual drummer. And he also mentioned that the star drummers he's played with (Donati, Chambers & Cobham), and with other acts as well, the drummer brings the house down with applause, while the other guys get a smattering of applause. Are drummers really that much more loved, or are drummers & drum fans just more boisterous with their applause?

The only guy I used to see overwhelmingly heavy response to was Chambers. He got far more applause than the other guys when I saw him with Stern, Free Spirits, and Niacin. At least as much as Gambale last year as well.
