It would be great to have a list of all fusion albums released in a given year. We have the best of archives, but you guys are telling me that's not the place for the entire list of releases, but only the top ones. Then we have complete lists for a few of the recent years, but they are just floating in the general forum, and easy to miss. Can we either adapt that section to comprise the entire list, or add a section where we would pool our lists to create a comprehensive list of the years fusion releases?

I don't see why not. I would suggest it end up on the Resources board. Maybe JaySee can set up a Google doc like he did this year, for threads of all the past years. It would be really cool if it somehow could be set up where each guy could insert a grade next to the albums he's heard.
It definitely shouldn't end up on the Best Of, as it's literally not that.

I don't really see a reason not to have both best of & comprehensive in the same place. It seems redundant to have the two sections. If someone were to create their own best of, it would be convenient to have the comprehensive list there for reference. But if not, I think having the same structure as the best-of would be good. If the gsheet is imbedded, Jaysee could share the sheet with each of us, and our edits would appear there. We could even have a column that would average our individual rankings together into a cumulative score.

It seems incorrect to have them together. If I want to see Best of 2015, I shouldn't have to slog thru a bunch of posts where guys are throwing out everything they have and comparing what's been listed and what hasn't, etc. I just want to see the cream, not how it's made. Are we really at the laziness point where opening a second tab to view the comprehensive list to reference is too onerous? I can't see anyone beyond you, me and JaySee contributing anyway. If anyone wants to know what he and I have for a given year, they can already check RYM very easily.

But I think it would be a great resource to have easily accessible. While there are only a handful of posters here, who knows how many lurkers there are. I know of at least couple of guys who browse this forum without contributing. Since there is really noting like this on the web, it would be a cool accomplishment I think.

So, new sub-board ("Jazz Fusion Albums by Year"?) under the Resources and then each year gets its own thread? I don't like using Google Sheets. BBCode's numbered list is simpler and faster. Format could be... Artist - Title (Release date) [Notes]

Yeah, that sounds about right to me.

The one nice thing about an imbedded gsheet is that it would;d automatically update whenever one of the sheet editors altered it on google. If we provided our personal ratings, as George had mentioned then is would be incorporated. However I have no experience with the process of imbedding a sheet..

How about using RYM for the list? We could register an account for that purpose. That way we only need one list.
