I’ve always liked Acid Jazz since it came out in the ‘90s, and listen to it on and off. I was really into Brand New Heavies and Corduroy in the ‘90s. Unfortunately BNH moved away from San Francisco right before I moved here. I like some of Incognoto’s stuff, and have seen them in concert. Reel People (Tony Momrelle from Incognito) has a good album. I enjoy most of Jamiroquai’s stuff (except for Rock Dust Light Star, the rock album they came out with in 2010). The new one is quite good though. And I was really into Tristan over the last year. The one thing I don’t care for is all the remixes and break beats - I never understood the appeal.
One thing I have noticed is that when I don’t play guitar, my tastes veer towards Acid Jazz and more groove oriented music. But I like fusion more when I’m playing. In fact, I recently started playing again specifically so I could re-spark the fusion flame.

I have the early Jamiroquai records, but lost touch with them in the 2000s

I was not familiar with this genre, so today I listened to Corduroy's Dad Man Cat. It's listenable, but maybe just in small doses.

When I first bought an album, I didn’t like it. But it slowly grew on me to the point that it became one of my favorites. You’ve heard Tristan, haven’t you? Frans Vollink

You’ve heard Tristan, haven’t you? Frans Vollink I know them, but I haven't heard any of their music. Must have been the singer that turned me away. I'll check them out.

I'm generally not a vocals fan either, and vocals in fusion are probably the worst thing ever. but sometimes I enjoy some vocals if done well. Sebastiaan Cornelissen is in Tristan as well. I see they've just come out with a new one: The Spice of Five.
