Hey Fusionheads! My band, Animal Society, plays Jazz-Rock fusion. I'd love to hear what you guys think of it! Listen here: bit.ly/ansoc_SpotifyMy favourite way to describe it is if everyone's favourite striped t-shirt wearing jazz guitarist joined Tom Morello et al. There's a lot more to it than that, but I guess it helps define the kind of Jazz-Rock I'm talking about, by refining the specific reference points of each of those two genres! Do let me know what you think, who it reminds you of!

Hi and welcome! Personally I think your album is one of the best things (maybe even the best) that I have heard this year.
Interested in your description of what you play but since I can enjoy both Rage Against the Machine and Pat Metheny it's not a problem for me. Rise definitely reminds me of Rage Against the Machine in parts.
I wouldn't say you were influenced by Alex Munk's Flying Machines but to me there are some similarities and if you don't already know it I recommend listening to John McLaughlin's Devotion album from 1970.

Hi xmiles,
Aw, thanks for the kind words, that really means a lot! The Pat/Rage tag is a little reductive, but it certainly gets people's attention. I know FLying Machines! Those guys are great, I particularly enjoy their track 'Bliss'. Alex Munk writes amazing music. I've recently been getting into Mahavishnu again, so I'll check out Devotion for sure. Thanks for the recommendation!
