There is talk on Facebook of a "new" Holdsworth album Proto-Cosmos. According to the AH Archives site "Some of the recordings on this album were previously released on the DVD which came out in 2007, and was filmed at Yoshi’s in Oakland in 2006. But around half the tracks are previously unreleased recordings, presumably recorded in conjunction with the video production." No sign of a physical album yet but you can listen to it on Spotify. www.bluecanoerecords.com/protocosmos.html

A 2 CD recording of that concert has already been released years ago. I own the DVD that was sent to me years ago for review and then last year I decided to buy the 2 CD version from Leonardo at Moonjune off Bandcamp. He gave me a great discount as it seemed he was trying to clear all of them out. Seems that Bandcamp page for that recording is gone. You can still buy it here: www.discogs.com/release/3612349-Holdsworth-Pasqua-Haslip-Wackerman-Blues-For-Tony and get 11 songs instead of only 8 available on this “repackaged” diet version. My advice: buy the full package off Discogs or eBay instead of this re-run version. FYI: Leonardo is where I obtained a Not for Sale CD of Holdsworth’s Tales from the Vault that included “Earth” with Holdsworth solos. That’s the track that Donati said he didn’t want released. That still baffles me to this day. Don’t say who told ya, but if ya contact him via Moonjune records — he may have one or two laying around. He sold me my copy for like $20. Good luck.

pfernandes.com/worksYou can listen and make up your mind. For me it just didn't have enough crunch. They might be okay live but I don't know how much I would listen to the cd.

Guitar fans will be disappointed in the lack of grit. There's guitar on almost every track, but mostly just as a solo vehicle. Not much in the way of rhythm work. Kind of like MSM Schmidt, or something along those lines.

I just bought a copy. (Not on Amazon or Discogs)

Enough about crusty, archival live stuff! New and anticipated...
The debut from Drift Lab, Moonlight, will release on February 14th An Italian quartet featuring killer bassist Federico Malaman, and guitar wunderkind Matteo Mancuso
Can't wait to see what they've come up with!
